The hospitality business is one of sacrifice, selflessness and servient obedience requiring a special type of person to provide a skillset that incorporates all these characteristics into one package. Due to the demanding nature of the profession, turnover and burnout rates are extremely high. Over the past seven years, we have sadly watched exuberant, bright, charismatic staff members grow weary and tired in the pursuit of providing cheerful, friendly service. Social media platforms, review sites and a multitude of web based grading systems has changed the nature of the hospitality field. Each of us now possess at our fingertips the ability to take our grievances and post them wherever we believe will cause the most damage and generate the most pain. Every issue, mistake, shortcoming, personal preference, or personal vendetta is now posted for the world to see. Regard for the damaging effects this has on one's self value and self-worth are never considered. Fully explaining a situation and the thousands of circumstances surrounding each typically forgotten. Consideration if we too, would want someone sitting at our place of work, phone in hand, ready and willing to document every mistake, misspelled word, extended bathroom break or bad day we had, to the world in the most salacious way possible. This is the job you sign up for when you decide to take a job as a server, bartender, cook, host, or own a hospitality establishment.
Due to the lack of people willing to sign up for this glamorous job description, we have been forced to change our hours of operation for the restaurant and pub. The restaurant and pub will now be closed Sunday - Thursdays. Our doors will be open at 4PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Hotel and Catering services will not change and can be booked for any date and time needed. Please check our website, Facebook page or call us for more information. We have built an incredible business, along with our small but mighty team, and together, we decided to make this decision. It's discouraging to us that we must make business decisions based on lack of people wanting to work, but when we started this business, our mission was to provide great food and quality service. It has been a struggle to find, and develop a large enough group of committed staff members that are focused on providing the impeccable experience that we expect at Morguen Toole Company. We are hoping this decision is merely a temporary one, but we can only do so much with so few that are dedicated to this mission.
We apologize for any inconvenience, and truly hope you understand our reasoning behind this difficult decision. Our valued customers, both local and from afar are what drives us and we want to be certain that we can provide the very best in hospitality services. Please come see us on Friday’s and Saturday’s. If you find yourself craving our signature crab dip, or one of Ryan’s mouthwatering burgers, don’t be too discouraged!! We will gladly cater to you! The MTC Food Truck is in constant travel, bringing our incredible food to you! Continue to follow us, and watch to see where the MTC crew will be serving near you!
